Eastlea Community Centre Blog
Our blog will report on events that have been held at the Centre. It is an opportunity for us to share community successes, community views and photographs of the event.

Unfortunately, the Coronavirus lockdown meant plans for a VE Day celebration at Eastlea Community Centre didn’t come to fruition. However, this didn’t stop us from celebrating along with the rest of the country by reminiscing and making our own displays for our homes.

Although we’re missing the lovely sounds of the East Durham Dementia Friendly Choir, which meets at Eastlea Community Centre every other Thursday, we’re looking forward to welcoming them back as soon as we can. But being in lockdown hasn’t stopped them singing – they’ve moved their regular sessions online. Just watch this terrific version of Stand By Me, which they’ve put together in their own homes.

At Eastlea Community Centre, we were delighted to be able to support the marvellous work Dawdon Youth and Community Centre is doing with its food bank.
