Eastlea celebrates the newly-crowned King and Queen
Eastlea Community Centre turned red, white and blue to mark the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
More than 80 people sat down to our Big Lunch Buffet for a day of fun and games, which included raffles, bingo and a Coronation quiz.
Staff, trustees and volunteers worked hard to prepare it, with some help from staff at the Mallard pub and some funding from the East Durham Area Action Partnership.
We weren't alone in celebrating. The Mallard held a Coronation Rocks event with several bands, and raised £507, which was donated to Eastlea Community Centre; and residents of Westlea held a street party, which raised £350 for the Centre from a raffle.
It was lovely to see the community all coming together, and we're lucky to have such good neighbours.
