Strictly for fun – Come dancing with us

Remember tea dances? Well they're back, at Eastlea Community Centre. We're delighted to have been asked by Durham County Council, Leisure In The Community and the East Durham Area Action Partnership to host a tea dance at the Centre on Tuesday, 19th October, at 2pm.

This is not your classic tea dance, though. We are looking to reimagine the conventional British tea dance with a slightly modern take. Join us to learn some new social dances in a wide range of styles that will appeal to anyone – even if you can't dance. It's all about having fun with movement.

You don't need a partner to join in – absolutely everyone is welcome. It's a great form of exercise, a way to meet new people, and is even followed by a spot of afternoon tea to enjoy with your friends.

Come and learn something new, enjoy some lovely upbeat music and have fun dancing with us – there will be new dances every week. Taught by a local professional dance artist and choreographer with years of experience, these sessions look to explore what social dances are, mixing new and exotic styles with more traditional ones and seeing if we can can get some new trends along the way. Let's have some fun and a cuppa.

Session length: 1hr 30mins, followed by afternoon tea for participants.

Sessions are designed for ages 50+.

All levels of ability welcome.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you can move in.

Pre booking required Telephone 0191 581 2399.
